Leucojum vernum L.

A bulbous plant, with a bulb 12–30 mm in diameter. The flower stalk is compressed and two-edged. The leaves are all basal, dark green in colour, with a linear blade between 5 and 12 mm wide. The leaves and flower stems are enclosed in a white sheath, 3 to 5 cm long, which clings closely to the stem and leaves. A bulbous plant with a bulb 12–30 mm in diameter. Folk medicine

This flower is poisonous and therefore not suitable for medicinal purposes.

It grows up to an altitude of 1,200 m in scrubland, damp meadows and marshes.
